Cow Milk

Use of Probiotic to get rid of cow’s milk allergies.

It has been reported that probiotic formula will help babies with allergies, they develop a tolerance to cow’s milk.

In babies the food allergies may occur during early age of their life. This is quite worrying time for parents. The most common allergy is due to cows’ milk protein allergy. But many children get rid of this allergy when they attain the age of five.

What are probiotics? Probiotics are microorganisms that help maintain the natural balance of organisms (micro-flora) in the intestines. Probiotics are “friendly bacteria” that are similar to organisms that occur naturally in the digestive tract. Certain strains or types of probiotics have been linked to all sorts of health benefits, from helping with irritable bowel syndrome and traveler’s diarrhea to boosting the immune system. They’re sometimes used with antibiotics to combat the diarrhea that may result from taking antibiotics. *

In such cases the young babies had trouble in tolerating cow milk, use of probiotics dimishes the allergy. Please consult your baby pediatrician. Use of probiotic change the composition of intestinal bacteria, this may help in maintaining balance in their intestine and removing discomfort to baby.

Dr. Jack Gilbert, PhD of University of Chicago says “”The ability to identify bacterial strains that could be used as novel therapeutics for treating food allergies is a fundamental advance,”

The ISME journal published “In the last ten year the food allergies has risen to 20% in certain geographical areas of developed countries, and it was found cow milk is mainly problematic.

If it is the case in develop countries what we expect in underdeveloped countries such as Pakistan and many Asian and African countries.
